Bone shop: marking earaser, darkener and swapper
Started By
I think, as a normal "bone shop item" and not a monthly item a marking eraser, swapper and darkener would be great! All these items would be permanently in the bone shop! The target audience is not custom pups but regular breeders breeding from non custom dogs, so don't worry about someone messing up somebody else's design! These items would not cut into the custom dog sales as they get expensive. If you bought one of each, it would cost almost as much as a custom! Anyone wanting a lot of changes done to a dog would just go buy a custom instead as it's cheaper. However, people wanting to do minor changes to their dogs will love these items. --- How The Items Work--- For 2 bones the marking eraser would reduce a single marking on one dog to zero. It would disappear after use. The marking eraser would be great for unwanted or bizarre duplicate markings, such as this pup who has both black full AND white full For 2 bones, the marking darkener will change any single marking on one dog to 100%. It would disappear after use. This would be great for the owner who really wishes that marking came in a little darker than it did. It also would be nice for breeders who like to specialize in a single marking as it would widen the available breeding pool. For 3 bones, the marking swapper will allow you to change the order of your dog's markings. It would disappear after use. This would be great for when you like your dog's markings, but not the order they came in. Imagine being able to see those hidden markings! It would have a preview just like the customs would. -------- So, what do you think? -------- EDIT: Genetics would still play a factor: this would not add new markings. All it would do is help take some of the randomness out of the markings that you breed in by letting you control the percentages of a single marking or the marking layering. Two bones might seem low, but it will add up fast. Also, people will go "Oh, only two bones!" and buy it with less hesitation leading to more sales. They will have spent the price of a custom in marking fixes before they even know it!

Support wholeheartedly! And I agree with Kaeli, you should be able to choose the opacity, not just set it to 100. :D

Support! Nicely thought out too! And I cant tell you how many times I have wished there was just one marking that was taken off a dog. This would definatly not only boost bone sales but dog sales as well. People will start buying the akwardly marked if they knew they could change a marking or two on it. I know I for one would buy quite a few. :D

I support yet agree with Kaelzilla :)

Support! I'd like it even better if you could set the opacity of the darkener to a custom value instead of 100%

i support i think it's a great idea:)

@Jambers (#8362)<br /><br />It would be sort of like the custom editor in coding. However, instead of making a new dog, it would open an existing dog and save over the same dog. <br /><br />As the current custom editor only allows one change at a time, the marking darkener and eraser won't take much if any extra coding. The marking reorderer may be slightly trickier, though, as it will most likely need some new coding to drag and drop existing markings for reordering purposes.<br /><br />The player would need to refresh the page after they are done in order to see changes.<br /><br />@Tiger: I agree. That's why I suggested this. :) Well, that and that it would be more money for the site.

I support! No matter how had i try the random full black and brown keep popping into my lines that none of my dogs have carried in the past...

Eh, I don't support. This site is for breeding. If you don't like an outcome, try breeding a different pair in order to get a pup that's pleasing to your taste. It's a nice concept, but it sorta takes away the point of predicting pups and selective breeding.

i like the idea but i just dont see HOW it would work Codeing wise.

i like it. however the pup in the link has a unique coat made by the half transparent white and black. but i agree on the hidden markings :/ but i think the pricing is great; MAYBE a bone or two higher but still great idea :) but it would kind of defeat the purpose of genetics but idk... im nuetral but leaning on support
